14A-Halfway reflection

1)    The behaviors that I have used/develop to keep up with the requirements of this course are discipline and I have also improved my ability to think abstractly and think from a consumer’s point of view when thinking of potential products. Being an online course, one naturally has to discipline themselves to get the work done. However, I do enjoy doing most of these activities and find that they help me see the opportunities around every aspect of daily life.

2)    Sometimes when I am studying for a test, and the Information is just not “clicking” I most definitely feel like giving up. But, then I remember the end goal of landing that “dream job” and hopefully it will all be worth it. I think pushing through a long study session when you didn’t feel like it, and then doing well on the test is very rewarding and has helped contribute to any tenacity that I have gained throughout the first two months of this semester.

3)   One tip I would offer next semesters students about fostering the skills that support tenacity/developing a tenacious mindset would be to always have a positive and think that you will succeed. This will keep you motivated and tenacious working towards your goal. Another would be to find something that you are passionate about, that you absolutely love and run with it. If you enjoy what you are working on, tenacity is much easier to develop. Lastly would be just to keep on pushing through when times get tough. Everyone goes through hardship, but it is how we respond to hardship and obstacles in our life that define our tenacity

  1. Working online definitely requires a lot of discipline. I didn't really realize that when I transferred online. But it is a good skill to have and will help in lots of life. It is definitely easy to get discouraged in this class, I know I have been. But just stay motivated like you said and it will all get accomplished. Halfway through the semester!

  2. Hey Ben,
This course definitely requires a lot of self-discipline. It can be very easy to just push back an assignment until the last minute and then not have enough time to complete it. But as long as you stay motived and have a desire to succeed in this class you shouldn't achieve an A. This was very insightful and I can't wait to read the next one!
