16A-Whats your secret sauce

The five characteristics that I have that I believe makes me different, or what makes me, me, are as follows:

1.     If I am doing something I don’t like, even if I have to do it, I usually complain about it and put forth minimal effort. Whereas if it is something I am interested in or passionate about, I put 110 percent effort in. There is no in between for me.
2.     My social skills with someone I have never met before and my ability to stay off my phone/electronics.
3.     My time managing skills. I can plan my day down to the minute if I need to, and usually I am very good with sticking to that schedule and accomplishing all that I need to get done.
4.     My self-confidence.  Whether it is something that I have don’t 100 times or something I have never tried before, I am usually quite confident that I will be able to achieve, or figure out how to achieve the task at hand and succeed to reach my goal.
5.     My eagerness to learn as much as I can about a subject I am interested in. If something interests me, I want to learn much more than what is on the surface. I want to absorb as much info as possible. I am never satisfied with just what is on the outside.

Comparison:

The majority of the people that I interviewed highlighted my work ethic and passion. I think those are the two factors that stand out to people when they get to know me. People know that I am also quite a time-focused person and that I am never just sitting around doing nothing. Overall, my friends pretty much said what I expected them to say.

  1. I like the attitude from all of your interviewees. It sounds like they know a lot about you, especially that you are very passionate about a motive that you wish to strive. It is nice to learn that you are very proactive and not just lazy, like most people. It was nice hearing about your interviews and the way people described you!

  2. Being able to get to know people you have never met and socializing easily is such a skill that I wish I had. I can talk to people but it doesn't come naturally to me. It seems like all your friends think highly of you and your work ethic. All these things should help you to succeed even more with your company!

  3. Hi Ben,

I think confidence really is key when it comes to succeeding, especially in the workplace. I also feel like you have very strong self-awareness because your interviewees essentially confirmed the statements that you already made about yourself. Finally, the idea that you don't like to waste time will make you an excellent entrepreneur because you will always remain proactive.

  4. Great job with this post Ben. I share the skill you have of being able to socialize so easy and I have found that it really benefits me throughout my life. You also seem to have a go getter mentality. This is key to success in all aspects of life and that will serve you very well. You're interviewees all seemed to have great things to say about you. This shows what good character you have. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

  5. Ben,

I like your post this week. I should learn more time managing skills from you because I did so bad on this one. I also like your interviews, and I think knowing your differences and characteristics from people who are closest to you make you know more about yourself. Great post overall, and I hope to see more from you.

  6. Hey Ben,
I think you have some great work this week. Similar to you, I enjoy social interactions and find them very easy. From what I have observed, a high social IQ can be one of the best things possible to help you out in your career. Also, I really enjoyed listening to the interviews, I think they reflected well upon you. Looking forward to the next post.
